NEW FULL & LOW POWER STATIONS FOR 2011 (OTHER THAN RELIGIOUS, SHOPPING)

Atlanta got one Low Power (with a good signal) WTBS 26. Sister station to WANN 32. Both have 10 sub channels and about 6 radio channels. Around 8 of the same subs are currently seen on both.

Do you think the transition to digital has helped or hurt the number of new station debuts?

I think it has hurt because we've already lost UHF channels 52-69, 51 is now on the bubble, 2-6 are practically
useless, and the broadband providers are coming back for another frequency grab.

If I were trying to start a station my first question would be "where on the dial?"

I thought WTBS was Peachtree TV? We get that station in Canada.

Never mind, I looked it up on Wikipedia. The US gets TBS, but in Canada, we get Peachtree, as it is licensed on cable here, not TBS. The only shows I watch on it are Cheers and Fraser, from 4:30 to 6am PST.

Well, WTBS use to be assoicated with the old TBS (Superstation) until Time Warner/Turner exchanged WTBS for WPCH (which is what Canada gets) so then Prism got the old call letters WTBS(-LP) to confuse everyone.

I miss Ted and the old Superstation.
