New G101...how's it sound?

Gave it a good listen while doing some running around today and it sounds pretty good. I was grooving and singing along to it.

How bout the new features??? The revamped Flashback Lunch with all those great tunes from the MTV Days when they actually played music? And who is that mystery Dave Dude hosting the extravaganza????

How bout more music morning...the At-Work Network...AJ at night! Man he's good!

We'd like to know what you think...its officially flying today, so please give it a listen.

From someone who's far from the market now and a former Rev DJ...Is this a revamped Revolution? I'm guessing from mention of AJ and Flashback Lunch it is.

So "the Revolution" is no more? July 1996-July 2005...nine years almost to the day!

Well, yes and no...As for what Revolution has been for the past 1-2 years, yes...Its been revamped a bit and of course the name really didn't fit the new sound. The music mix has been refined...the Flashback is now a very uptempo 40 min mix of MTV Staples from their early days (back when they played MUSIC).

But the format clocks have been completely redone, there is a new professional imaging guy. It sure does not feel like the Revolution, at least not the Revolution you probably know and remember. Its fresher, newer and well...different. Ted has the new digital stuff hooked up and the overall sound is pretty darn clear too...almost major market. Its a right up the middle mainstream CHR.

If you are in the area, or know anyone who can roll tape on it...check it out. Sounds pretty nifty!!!

We had the opportunity to listen this weekend. Imaging and liners are great.
I was a little concerned during the Flashback lunch that I was listening to
Key 95/96Key or 3WZ. "Starship- Sara". Listened after the lunch, and
thought that the playlist was right on target. Our 14 year old daughter
asked us to turn it up, and knew every song. That's not a put down, she is
very radio savvy, having grown up in the business. Both parents in radio
20 years plus. My only critique is the sound quality. The highs are too
crunchy, fatiging at times. The bottom needs enhanced. I like bass.
CHR/Hot AC likes bass too. I believe Ted and I had this same discussion
when we were setting up the processing in Chambersburg in 1999. Overall,
I give G101 an A-!

I live in Harrisburg and don't make it out to State College that often .... BUT

How dare they mess with a great name like Revolution and make it G-101. I saw the news and I thought it was G-UNIT or something.

/shaking my head in digust

This has to be a joke. That's okay, I liked the Revolution name and I would use it for my radio station in a second.

Long live Revolution!

Revolution was a great name. After all the years of Alternative slash Modern Rock, the Revolution name was not a very good match for the new CHR 101.1. The change was a smart decision.
