New Garth Single

It's a tribute to Country Music and Rodeo superstar Chris Ledoux. KNCI (Infinity) in Sacramento played it this morning. I think the title is Ride Cowboy, Ride. Didn't hear the tune as I am at work but my wife tells me it was really nice and mid-tempo. Any info on this?

"Good Ride Cowboy"

It ain't bad and a new Garth single is certainly big news for country radio whether it does well or not. I believe this song is the first sign of Garth's exclusive deal with Wal-Mart to handle sales of his catalog. The feature of the deal is a repackaging of Garth's music including some previously unreleased tracks, leading me to believe that "Good Ride Cowboy" is not a new recording, but an unreleased track from his archives that happens to be timely now after Chris LeDoux's death.

Heard it this morning on ABC's Real Country and I like it, primarily because I just like tribute songs =)

It is called "Good Ride, Cowboy" actually.

I can't seem to find anything else about it at the moment, but it is part of the Wal-Mart CD.

Re: "Good Ride Cowboy"

It's doing incredibly well. As of Friday afternoon, after one and a half days of play it has 60+ adds and is at number 30 on the R&R charts. That'll be quite a bit higher when they are finalized on Tuesday morning.

It'll break records just set by Kenny Chesney's new single just weeks ago. HUGE deal for country radio, Wal-Mart, and Lyric Street Records Nashville.
