WGST Adds Mitch Evans
Veteran ATLANTA sports radio host MITCH EVANS joins CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WGST-A/ATLANTA as Sports Director, reports the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION's RODNEY HO.

EVANS, formerly at WQXI-A (790 THE ZONE), WZGC (92.9 DAVE FM, where he hosted FALCONS pre- and post-game shows), and WNNX (99X), replaces ERIC PAGE and will handle morning sports updates on WGST's RANDY AND SPIFF morning show, plus fill-ins for ATLANTA BRAVES pre- and post-game shows.
 
Mitch is top notch. Just hate that he has to work at a station that will be gone in the near future.
 
I bet Evans is out before the end of the year. That's just how CC-Atlanta rolls. They kept Page after cutting the sports department around him, only to can him about a month later after cutting all of his air time next to nothing anyway.

Bloomquist couldn't care less about sports, and will most likely discard Mitch as soon as he's done with him, about the same tme the Braves wrap up their season.
 
For Mitch's sake, I hopes he has a guaranteed three-year contract.

We all know how he was screwed over by the change at Z-93 to Dave "Awful" FM.

If memory serves, Mitch's dismissal had to do with Paul Arkadian (look it up) and his massive ego rather than Mitch's talents.

Mitch was fired because Dave FM didn't need a sports personality to deliver sports content on All Access. Good luck to Mitch, he's a good guy.
