New GM at CC Beaumont??

If she has gone, she was there a long time. I wonder if this hints at other CC changes rumored for other markets as well. There are some indications that the hub and spoke news will get even more so with more KTRH news on KLVI in the future? Can't bode well for local staff.

i had worked with Vesta on the capitol hill project 4 years ago. this is a complete shock to me. something must have gone down, she is far too strong to just step aside

Well Vesta is gone. And with CC the only reason they would let a GM go for these days is bad sales so go figure. Probably not the end of the changes there.

I'm sorry to hear this, but given CC's continued demise it is not surprising. The proximity of CC-Beaumont to Houston will encourage further consolidation.

You know they actually could run the Beaumont cluster far more efficiently. They laid off in other markets the business manager, hr people, and accounts payable and receivable. They should do that there if they are worried about the bottom line! Everything is out of San Antonio anyway!! Unless they are keeping it barely running locally to keep it together long enough to sell.

Which I really dont know why they dont sell it?? Except if they have some really good FCC attorneys they could move 106.1 and KLVI into Houston

i too, would not be surprised to see it get folded into h-town. - who is driving the boat at this moment, do they have a local gm now?

I heard that the GM from CC/McAllen-Brownsville has moved (or is moving) to CC Beaumont.

Well the new GM has a lot of work ahead of him! The one good thing is that he has 5 well programmed stations. Trey does a fantastic job with them especially KYKR and KCOL, if you want to watch those stations tank immediately it will happen if they get rid of Trey!

But it will take a ot for the new GM to fill Vesta's shoes, and he better be good at Solitaire!

i wonder if this is the person who told me about 6 years ago when i had applied for a job in McA/B, "you would be a slam dunk for this job if you spoke Spanish" **i am an engineer, not an announcer, why would i need to be bilingual?

in for a shock when they get to setx, where AINGLISH is spoken, and proudly

Well I know that they brought in an engineer from Arkansas, but that was under Vesta's watch. So he probably doesnt speak spanish!! And in Vidor if you even say the word Mexican there you will be burnt on a cross in the KKK's yard. Which is just down the road from the KIOC, KKMY, KYKR, and KCOL transmitters. If you're a minority engineer for CC in Beaumont you better pack a bullet proof vest and several guns!! 4 out of 5 transmitters in Vidor and KLVI is in Bridge city 5 minutes away.

New engineer guy if the GM wants you to speak spanish go ahead and learn just dont practice it in VIdor!!!!

ha, no. i meant when i had applied for a job in McA/B, not Beaumont
