New GM at Cumulus

I heard the Genorra Reed is out at the Cumulus stations...any word on her replacement? Why was she replaced?

I haven't heard a 'real reason' she resigned, but the business manager was replaced a few months ago. I doubt that there was anything illegal, but it seemed that he had not been taking write-offs and adjustments for some time. Could have been that corporate started looking at the write-offs the new business manager was pushing through and asked what was wrong. I'm told that auditors have been in the building recently. I hate it for Gennora, as she was one of those who 'got it'. She was a great competitor, and always tried to keep her sales team on the positive side of the road, not allowing them to bash the competition. I'm sure that like many, she was being pressured by Cumulus to do things that she wasn't comfortable with. Looks like VP Gary Lewis is in town for awhile. Cumulus has had a pattern of replacing Citadel hold-overs with smaller market Cumulus loyalists....that's what happened in Chicago a few weeks ago, moving the long-time GM up from Houston.

if she was the GM why blame the BM for not taking wo's? GM runs the show, not the BM. so, corp sniffed around and found that revenue was being mis-represented and you say she "got it"....sounds like your version of "got it" and being a fiscally repsonsible business person are two different things. also, if doing the right thing: writing off bad business makes someone uncomfortable, perhaps they should go work for Citadel.....oh wait, they went bankrupt. smells like citadel was booking a lot of funny money to me, managers were raking in bonuses and then oops, clients didn't pay for what they didn't buy. took about 9 mos for cumulus to uncover the mess.

Has the new GM been named yet? It seems the trend is to not replace and simply elevate someone in the sales department into the position.
