New GM New Thinking at AGM

Chuck Morgan is now the GM at AGM. Interesting move. Mr. Gannon is out.
Already Power 106 and OMG switches..and who knows what's to come.
This will be interesting. Mr. Morgan is learned in the way of research and has the experience to
pull off the impossible..AGM being a leading force in the market.
Big Oldies sounds good in my opinion since moving into a new era of music and shedding the upper demos.
How long can Bobby Box fit into this change? Contract time will be interesting.
He would be a great community person for the station to go out and represent the group.
Still unlistenable in the morning.
Mr. Morgan has the inside knowledge of competitors KKSS, KIOT and KJFA.
I haven't heard about any moves in personnel for Radio Lobo. Anyone?
What is everyone's opinion on OMG?
On Power 106?

I wish AGM well under their New leadership and I wish Tim Well in his Future.

As you can see by todays Trend My Station 1600 is moving towards a 2.0 share( fantastic for an AM Music station That is at Low power for 5 months out of the year) thanks inpart to 98.5's move to more 70's.
As for Box, while you are right about him not fitting their young sound it does not seem to be hurting them, but I bet he gets a big Salary and these days we know where that lands you.

The Old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it I say leave Box on 98.5 and play less 60's and more late 70's rock tunes.

Under the if it ain't broke...The move of Lobo from 97.7 to 106.7 was one of the worst moves in the last two years, they took a 3.5 share station and turned it into a 0.5 station.

I still Think That someone in the Market should go after Magic....

As always Keep doing Good radio, God Bless and Good Luck to all

I always had the utmost respect for Tim Gannon. Nice person. Always listened. Sad to see him go away.

Seems like the AGM posts are far and few between now. A few years ago it seemed like the posters were sitting on Scott Hutton's lap typing - had information up here before AGM employees knew about it.

The old line you give people on the phone - "he's moved on to bigger and better things" - I very much hope that will be true for Tim.

Good luck to both AGM and Tim.

The issue is not the frequency change... Lobo changed a lot to try to compete with KJFA and Piolín in the morning and they ended up breaking the format.

Plain and simple Box stats…

Icons:
Knifing
Box
Ahrens

Better than 90% capable of venue sellout:ask the casinos
Al Hurricane
Bobby Box

#1 recognized name; synonymous with Abq radio:
Bobby Box

bulk of the 4.5 KABG rating:
Bobby Box

Sat morning Bobby Box “Roots Of Rock n’ Roll” might be the highest rated weekend show in Abq. (lets count-out the 50+ demo….AGAIN)

42 years on the job and still going strong, who are his peers across the board, there is a lot of talent in Abq, but, who has matched his level of popularity and performance, much less his longevity. I have been a fan for many years, and hope to enjoy him on the air for many more years to come.

Ahrens was once an icon in this market, but no longer. He was at the top of the heap when KKOB celebrated him at his 25 year anniversary. Then success went to his head, contract time came and went and so did the Lar. Bad move on his part.

The Boxman is like the energizer bunny – just keeps going and going. Lot of radio history under his belt, and still a money maker I would wager.

Tim Gannon is a wonderful man. I enjoyed working for him, and if the chance ever came arourd again i would tkae it. always had a open ear and door. i hope to see him move on to much better things.... xoxoxo to Tim

From a distance, I think Tim did a heroic job of managing AGM here. Unfortunately, he took the sword for declining revenues that are affecting ALL the stations in Albuquerque. Example: Wanna buy a $3.00 commercial 6A - 7P weekdays on a full power FM? Just call your friendly sales rep at Clear Channel and scoop em up on 104.7. At least AGM has been holding their rates fairly decently! So, fare well, Tim - one of the truly talented, ethical and dedicated people in the business in ABQ >>>

This isn't hear say...Henry Gonzales (Ex La Jefa PD) takes KLVO's steering wheel. Jocks still remain the same from what I hear.

Honestly as far as AGM goes, what can I say, its radio! You are only as good as your last show. Never had a chance to work with Chuck, but I did speak with him on two occasions. The man knows radio! Both Chuck and Henry (work side by side) and that is what I credit to La Jefas success.

KJFA is going to have their work cut out for them. KLVO has a huge stick and the sound quality is great, plus BDS, Monitor Latino, MediaBase, and the years of Rene Leon has laid out the foundation for great relationships with record labels and advertisers.

I hope Lobo gets up and dusts itself again!

Rene
Santa
Julian...are all GOOD friends of mine, which I truly respect, and esteem each and everyone of them, best of luck.

AGM has let alot of "US" go. Some lost in the shadows of what they were on air and SOME OF US that HAVE moved on to BIGGER (market #3) Better things.

KJFA's signal, whether it is 70 dbu or 64 dbu, extends considerably further into Bernalillo County than KLVO's... the signal advantage is KJFA. And the programming advantage is with Piolín in the morning.

Aww the wonderful world of Diary, its all about making a Brand not a Quality Product! I agree Eddie, Piolin has made a GOOD BRAND of himself, wait let me rephrase that UNIVISION has made a great Brand out of Piolin. Not to take anything away from our Little Yellow Friend, he is very talented, but Univision (TV) has helped make Piolin what he is today. How many TV spots do they run promoting his show in Albuquerque?

LOBO has to market the station...
