New Graphics on KRON

KRON Channel 4 has been using some new graphics on their newscast. Its a good change for the station moving forward.
 
Seems like the reason why they changed their graphics is because their newscast is now broadcast in HD. Quite a surprise. Would have never thought they would have converted before the O&O's... and third in the bay area. Whats up KPIX & KNTV? Kinda seems like a slap in the face.
 
Maybe it's the underdog factor that motivated KRON to convert to HD first. James Gabbert's little independent TV20 was the first to broadcast in Stereo in the mid 80s. Of course, Gabbert was always in front with new technologies. His KPEN radio station was one of the first FM stations to broadcast in stereo, and K101 experimented with Quad sound for awhile. If Gabbert still owned TV20, that station would have probably been first to convert to HD
