New Graveyard State! 1/11/2012

Got a new log, and it's a new state on the graveyard frequencies.

1340: KTSN Elko, NV; ID in jumble at 1900 PST "KTSN...Elko" which sounded like Kelso (WA). Call sign was fuzzy and I thought it was KDFN, but searching http://www.topazdesigns.com/ambc/ showed KTSN on all parts. New GY State!! New #433, 565 mi, 1kw. Did try for other NVs and around 2000 PST I had a 1340 with Regional Mexican (KWWX switched from SS to Sports a few years ago). Might have been the one in Reno. I did not notice anything sounding like Smooth Jazz on 1400 however (which would correspond to KBDB in Reno).

I don't want to start a new thread, but recently I bought a pair of very lightly used headphones on eBay. They are a stereo/mono unit (kind of like the ones you see a lot at libraries and schools), a Califone 3068-AV. It works great, received it tonight, and tested it with the Graveyard frequencies even though it's a bad night for DX (unless if it's Northern AB or Sask. stations). Got two "regular" GYs, 1230 KBNH and 1240 KQEN (both OR). Should get better as the nights go on!
