New Haven Register TV/Radio Critic Reviews WELI

Nothing new. His reviews of WELI in his column are, to quote the lyrics from a Talking Heads tune, "...same as it ever was."

Predictably spewing leftist talking points. Then again this IS New Haven, isn't it? Then again, Clear Channel also defines what it means to be corporate fascist having ruined local radio.

And I would disagree with him on WICC's news department. Hate to say it, but since aligning with IRN-USA Radio, news quality is sub-par.

He is right on WQUN. Listening to them online, their local coverage of Hamden/New Haven news picks up where WELI left off after the sell-off to the bird feeders of San Antonio.

Leftist? Anything other than right-wing verbal machine guns like Limbaugh, Beck, the ultra-intolerant Dr. Laura, etc., is "leftist"? That these folks can be heard uninterrupted coast-to-coast on what is essentially a network of repeater stations is why commercial radio is so dismal today.

But you're right on re: Clear Channel; see last sentence above.
