New Haven Spring 08 Ratings

CCC and 'TIC FM might do better in New Haven if their signals weren't so poor. Though, I'm thrilled WURH is beating WCCC somewhere :)

And I have stated on this board that it's always been 'PLR and everyone else playing for 2nd. Now I stand corrected. I know 'YBC is under a Cox LMA. Even so, this will give 'PLR a wake-up call. Congrats to 'YBC and 'ZMX.

Ah!

So, CT's so-called "Number 1 Rock Station" - 'PLR - has been dethroned by a 3kw Urban AC college station (even though it is Yale Univ.) -

&, 'PLR is also beat by a Top 40/Rhythmic monster not even in New Haven - it's Hot93.7 - Blazin' 18 Jams In A Row - CTs' Official #1 for Hip Hop & R&B - WZMX in the Capitol city of Hartford!

Like previous posters have posted - 'PLR -

1. Presentation of music & "personalities" is boring.

2. This is a wake up call.

3. Is complacent.

4. The bigger they are on their high horse, the harder they fall!

I agree that PLR has gotten very stale, but do not forget these are 12+ numbers. When broken down into demographics, you may find a different story. WPLR probably does very well in certain demographics. They really shoud just call themselves classic rock and be done with it.

Gotten very stale? this station has been stale for a very long time..not only classic rock but the most burned tracks...over and over and..

However PLR is a brand so it has maintained ratings over the years...perhaps that is finally ending.

Well, if my local deli is anything to go by, the longer have it on when I go in at lunchtime. Actually, they have Country 92.5 on now

Looks like the diaries fell in the urban areas, Jack. Enjoy that champagne for the next 6 months!!
