New Hawaii Five-O on CBS... Racially Insensitive Casting?

Caucasian and Jewish....huh. I never knew there was a mix like that.

At this point, I would insert a clip from "The Young Ones," the first segment of Episode 9, "Nasty," in which a character laments about "being Scottish and Jewish" - but since I can't find it on YouTube or Hulu, let's forget I made this post. ;D

Yeah, like Caucasian and French! ::)

Seriously, the term "Jewish" can be used to identify those of the Jewish faith and/or those who have Jewish ethnicity (roots to what is now Israel). Not all Jews are ethnically Jewish - though a good percentage are. On the other hand, pretty much all ethnic Jews are of the Jewish faith. And yes, DNA tests can identify those who are descendants of the original tribes of Israel.

However, it's not a 'race'. Those who we generally think of as Jews (not counting lost tribes in Ethiopia and certain converts like the late Sammy Davis Jr.) are of the Caucasian race.

As an aside, I have to agree with Silkie's comment about this stuff tearing us asunder.
