New HD Radio Commercials

Apparently, the "Symphony" project got derailed after Motorola spun off their semiconductor business to Freescale. I tried searching for the data sheets for the Symphony receiver chips, but didn't get too far.

At least NXP (formely Philips Semiconductor) is still pursuing this technology and I wish them the best.
 
Chuck, being a dx'er and swl, I've always wondered how well dsp works on communications receivers (and add-on devices) which use it. If it works anywhere near as well as the dsp works on (analog) FM on the Sony XDR-F1HD, it's a no-brainer.

I know it is a feature in many high end communications receivers I see advertised in ""73" the ARRL magazine. Although I do have a Ham ticket, I am not at all active in it, so I haven't wanted to pay the price just to find out. On the other hand, I doubt they would include it on some very expensive radios if the manufacturer didn't think it offered some significant benefits. I agree that if it works anywhere near as well as the Sony tuner, it is indeed a “no brainer.”
