New HD Station on the air.

Checking my HD radio stations noticed a new Jazz format on WWFM out Mercer County Community College. Picked it up at 89.1 HD 2.

Yes, it certainly interferes with first-adjacent WBZC to the north. I’m worried that WHYY may try to add “HD” to the NJN stations that it’s acquired and turned into little more than glorified translators, thanks to Gov. Orca’s obvious contempt for New Jersey media. Adding useless “HD”adjacent-channel buzz to the Bridgeton station on 89.3 would kill reception of WBZC down here.

We just have to hope that WHYY is a little more rational than WWFM. Sure, they have the buzz on 90.9, but that’s a full-powered Class B. Are they irrational enough to do it on underpowered Class A’s? I hope not.

But WWFM is crazy enough to put that destructive technology on their substandard Class A’s! And that’s a good reason not to support them financially, no matter how much you like classical music.
