New Home For Mike Chamberlain?

After reading Chambo's interview in the AZ McPublic, he states that it was Channel 3 who ended the relationship. Since KTVK won't respond, we have to stick with Chambo's explanation.

My question is which channel do you think would be a good fit for Mike? 5, 10, 12, or 15?

I think that 15 has enough newsmen there, so I pick 5 so that Kent can get a break.

The story on the street is that 3 wanted Mike to work more, given his large salary, and he rejected the idea.

As far as where he goes next, it might be better for Mike to go back to sports. Not sure if 15 has officially hired someone to replace Ernie Zuniga, but Chambo would give them a cerdibility boost. I think...

I don't see that one. For sure 15 could use a credibility boost from someone but, with a couple of exceptions, I think they are all about young, cheap, and a bit dim. I see him more at 5 or even 10.

Why would anyone want to hire an EXPENSIVE anchor who balked at working more than 1 hour per night (wow...two whole 30 minute newscasts as a CO-ANCHOR!!!)???

If I'm not mistaken, Chambo worked the entire Good Evening Arizona show from 4:30 to 6:30pm as prime newsreader every half hour. He then hosted The Newsroom at 8pm, occasionally contributed a story on Nine Time News at 9 and was back for The NewsShow at 10pm. Other than Royal Norman, Mike was on air more than most of the 3-TV staff. I don't see Patti working more than her GEAZ shift.

My bad! I am not home during the GEAZ timeframe. I didn't realize that he anchored the news segments during GEAZ. Channel 3 never advertised Chambo being on GEAZ!

Chambo was on GEAZ a lot. They advertise Patti as the star and (for the most part) everyone else is secondary (not trying to be mean). When GEAZ did its intros they would mention Patti, Bev, Mike (now Heather), Royal, Ross & Bruce.

On a seperate but related note, those pictures make Bruce look like he is 7 feet tall or Ross look 4 feet tall. They shouldn't stand next to each other.

Hey! I'm sure "Chambo's" music career will surely boom now. ;)
