New Host For "Under The Boardwalk"

I caught the last few minutes of Dennis & Judi, and Judi had who will be the new host of "Under The Boardwalk" on today (since Dennis was off). I thought I heard the name Michelle. Is the new host Michelle Jerson (who has been filling in that slot, and used to have a relationship show way back when), Michelle Pilenza, or another Michelle? I was trying to figure it out based on the voice, but I couldn't determine. If anyone else knows, please fill in.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Don't who the New Host will be for Under the BOARDWALK will be ,but the loss of DENA BLIZZARD will hurt the show very much !!
She is a very talented and funny woman. She is going to have a very big career in the World of Comedy and televistion.
GOOD LUCK DENA

I believe there is going to be a parade of on-air auditions...Michele Pilenza (morning co-host on Millennium's SOJO 104.9) is batting lead off. She's really good...and will put the pressure on any others looking to win the gig.

Have they posted a list of schedule of who is auditioning (and when)? I suspect anyone who has filled in would not be included in the on-air auditions (since management has already had the chance to hear them do the show).

They seem to be keeping this one very low key, without any Star Search promotional stunt. Millennium sometimes posts job openings here - but not this one. This time they seem to be sticking to the industry websites - and insisting on prior experience.

NJ101.5 seems to be sticking with their chick talk, sex advice format even though it does not fit with the rest of the line-up. Of course, neither does Oldies on the weekend and that works for them.

I guess the chick talk works for them. I'm also surprised that Radio Chick has lasted 7 months on 92.3 Free-FM given her track record of failures and standing out like a sore thumb on this station. Personally, I don't listen to either, but from what I've heard the NJ 101.5 shows have definitely been popular over the years. The publicity from the contest helped as well.

Musically, I would say that the sound of NJ 101.5 during the weekends is closer to Classic Hits than Oldies. Lots of '80s titles (including Bananarama!), and I don't think I heard anything that came out before 1971 the last time I listened.

Michele Pilenza Sound's Great !!!! Give her the job Eric !!!!!

What! Promote a qualified person from within!
Oh, no! The EEOC would have a fit.
Besides, is evenings on NJ101.5 really a step up from morning drive on SoJo?
Same company. Same market. Out of prime time.

Is the other Michele who has been on for a few months part of the audition? I think she sounds more polished and has better topics than Michele P.

Fred - it's a step up

NJ 101.5 has an approx CUME of 100,000+ in Central & Northern NJ 7pm-12mid and another 75,000 in South Jersey with the 101.5/97.3 simulcast.

SOJO has an approx CUME of 30,000 in South Jersey only 6am-10am.

And yes - she sounds great! Tough to beat!

Yesterday on the "Jersey Guys", Craig said that the nighttime position will be making $32,500. Is she making less than that on SoJO?

Maybe she'll sleep from 10:30am-6:30pm and do BOTH shifts

Then she'd be late for work. She starts at 5:30 am.
But if she did try working both sides of the clock, she would not be the first.
People do crazy things to work in radio and they do them for lousy pay.
If the gig pays $32K, no wonder Miss New Jersey didn't hang around long. Some parts of the country you might be able to live OK on that, but not New York, not Philadelphia and not New Jersey, either.

I was suggesting she sleep AFTER the morning shift and BEFORE the night shift.

My mistake. :-[

10:30 to 6:30 gives her eight hours - provided she lives next door to the station. Then she has 10:30 pm to 5:00 am for her life. Better she should try six hours at night plus a good nap in the afternoon.

Who will be doing the on-air audition next week?

I agree. Michelle P sounded good the first night but the last couple of nights she has been hard on the ears.
