New Hot FM signal may be able to grow

The current Hot FM 94.1 signal has just applied to boost to a class C2 from C3 the tower would move south but would add Jacksonville and Camp Lejeune to its coverage area.

The map at the FCC's site has them putting New Bern and Jacksonville right in the fringes. I'm not sure quantity over quality is good. IMO a better signal over New Bern beats sticking both cities in the fringe.

Somewhat OT, I'm surprised they have yet to change the 94 calls to WRHT and WRHD. Wonder if a name change is coming?

I still have friends that work there and don't want to be negative BUT The Hot Fm is dead, the station has a SERIOUS Image issue and should just be blown up and put to rest...come back with a fresh new sounding top 40 station in that market. That station needs more than a signal. They've tried everything including cleaning house....it's not working!!!!!!!!!!! Archway Broadcasting destroyed the Herritage Top 40 in Eastern NC. It's sad but a re-inventing is in order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY ARE THEY SO SCARED TO BLOW IT UP? As long as they don't do the jack format...lol / A piece of advice Archway should of known...YOU HAVE TO SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY!!!!!!!!! I've heard that Henry Hinton gets that and I hope to see them back on top someday.

There is not room for two CHR's in this market anymore. Hot AC or what they are doing now is the only way to win.

This is semi correct. 93.3 is the heritage top 40. They were WDLX - The Hot FM during that mid 80's period when rock stations segued into the CHR format. The blip of time they existed as Arrow 93 doesn't negate the station's CHR heritage.

The several years before and after Arrow that they were AC and/or Hot AC negate that just a little. There was probably a ten year span between when they stopped CHR and when they truly started it back (Bob was not CHR for the first few years).

I remember hearing Joan Jett's "I Love Rock n' Roll" on WITN when it was a new record. I believe this was during the time Jack Boston &/or Alan Handleman were there.
