And a further update: KHGV has filed to turn in its license, so the return was short lived.
In LPFM, as long as it meets minimum distance separations (73.807) and it can meet any second-adjacent muster, it will go.And, to be fair, Alpert runs a low-budget operation that allows stations and applicants with limited funding to have an attorney. I would not blame him any more than I blame the criminal defense lawyers who represent all kinds of low-life individuals.
That's a Michi question. I'm assuming that most of those do not proceed due to defective application technical exhibits or because another local station filed a well-grounded objection.
P.S. I do not know Alpert, but I don't want to judge him based on some of the strange folks he represents.
So how would this affect or be affected by the Translator?Appears two LPFM groups have made the cut for 104.5 in Tomball, as the FCC has made its tentative selections for the “mutually exclusive” applications from the latest filing window. The applicants now have 60 days to make technical changes and 90 days to work out any timeshare arrangements.

K283CH doesn’t seem to be as strong as it used to be. No longer really listenable in The Woodlands at recent checks when I’m in that area. Still will limit the LPFM coverage around Tomball. So how would this affect or be affected by the Translator?
Update: There has been a resolution for the two mutually exclusive Tomball LPFM applications. The FCC has now granted Global Education Ministries a CP with a frequency move to 102.5, while Rosehill Amateur Radio Club has been granted 104.5. Its now on the air.The new Tomball LPFM planned for 104.5 now has a call, and it is a familiar one for the Houston market: KRLY-LP.
Wonder if it will have any impact at all on 104.5 downtownIts now on the air.
I checked 104.5 while driving in the 249 @ Louetta area earlier today. I could hear a station fighting against K283CH, but as La Mejor dominated the frequency I wasn’t really able to make out what was on the second signal, which I presume was KRLY.Wonder if it will have any impact at all on 104.5 downtown
