I was wondering Why hasn't the media people thought of a new place for transmitter sites. Cox and C.C have transmitter farms in Holiday and Riverview. Right. Well why not a transmitter site out in Northeastern Hillsborough County along the Pasco/ Polk County Line.
Here is the list of Pros and Cons of using the Two Current Transmitter Farms. As well as the one I thought of. The transmitter info should be assumed to be a Class C at 100,000 Watts.
Perks/Cons of a Riverview Site- Great Coverage to the east. Can cover Polk County as a whole. As well as the Sarasota and Highlands Markets moderately. OK coverage to the North. Can pull in an alright signal towards Disney World. As well as southern suburbs of Orlando.
Perks/Cons of a Holiday Site- Great signal coverage to the North. WXTB 97.9 for example can pull a City-Grade signal as far north as Homosassa Springs. Can even hit Ocala by a rimshot. However really suffers towards to South and East. Barely Covering all but Western Polk County. Only covers Sarasota by the skin of the behind. Definitely can't pull a signal into Orlando.
Perks/Cons of a New Tampa/ Zephyrhills Site- Would provide great coverage to the north. Could possibly pull a City-Grade signal into Wildwood, Leesburg and Clermont. Coverage for the immediate Tampa/ St.Pete Area should stay the same. However coverage will decrease towards Sarasota/ Southern Counties. However not quite as much as with a Holiday transmitter. Coverage will also increase towards Orlando. Could even pull in a 60DB signal in Downtown Orlando.
I'm not not skilled at this kind of stuff or anything. However I would like to get some input on this idea. Is it good, does it suck or whatever.
