New Imaging At Cool 102

I never really considered Cool 102 a classic hits station. But now they're calling themselves 'Classic Hits'. One thing that I
hope that does not change. They've never been afraid to play deep cuts. Granted they serve Cape Cod. But I like their selection.

Their new voice-over guy, whose name is escaping me, typically does imaging and voicework for hip-hop stations. I think he is still on WPGC in Washington, D.C., for example. The new imaging sounds good.

I thought Tom Kent was an odd fit for Cool 102.They run him on Saturdays when B101 does'nt.Why not run Mike Harvey the nights the Bee does'nt air him.
Deep tracks is what made Cool "COOL".

I'll have to check out the new imaging tommarrow.

Cool 102 (101.9) is focusing more on 60's to 80's music, which I think is great, since 103.3 WODS and Dunes 102.3 WGTX are hard to get in parts of the Mid-Cape area. Cool 102 would be the next closest format to those stations. I like that Cool 102 has a deeper playlist, but they should eliminate the classic rock and the blues music, and focus on the "cool" rock hits, not to hard or too soft, and also add some 60's to 80's soul.

I hope they stick with the classic rock. It's one of the reasons why I listen!

You got classic rock on 100.7 WZLX, and if you're in southern RI, you can get 102.3 The Wolf. By playing 60's to 80's "cool" rock and some soul, Cool 102 can gain listeners in their market in the Mid-Cape areas where 103.3 WODS and 102.3 WGTX are difficult to receive. I wonder if Cool 102 ever had RI advertisers. Their signal is strong in southeast RI and the Providence area, and decent in much of the state.
