new, improved WSJC (Magee, Simpson County)

Earlier this afternoon, I drove to Jackson and took the South State Street. The sign was flashing that a train would be present, but I did not care. This was a long train, and so, when I reached the railroad crossing, I killed my motor. The station to which I was listening (WTWZ) began playing a song that I did not care to listen to. Therefore, I began changing to different stations. I was astonished when I turned to WSJC-AM (780). In the past, the radio in the car I was driving would only pick up most static from the station. There were several improvements that I noticed, such as the call letters of the station being more prominently mentioned and there was even a local weather update and forecast. I cranked my automobile when the end of the train came, and, unfortunately, the static came again. I am delighted that this station has made improvements, and I am hoping that the station's website will now play the station (because, previously, the play button on the website would not play anything). Congratulations to the owner and the listeners.

780 isn't WSJC. That's WIIN Ridgeland, Ms. They have a couple of translators in the Ridgeland area. WSJC is still on 810 out of Magee, Ms.

Hey all -

I have noticed that WSJC 810 AM does seem to be coming in more clearly in Jackson over the past week or so. For many months, I could only get the station in Magee. No sign of the translator on 95.9 FM anywhere though...

Thanks!

I knew that WIIN was 780 and that WSJC-AM was 810. It was simply a mistake!

This morning in Terry, I could hear some of the station from Magee. I noticed that a news broadcast was on the station, and that is something that the station had not previously been broadcasting.

I also learned (as mentioned above) that the station now has WSJC-FM on 95.9.

I mean, if were getting pedantically picky, 95.9 is W240EJ with 75 watts and a CP for 99 watts
