ONLINE STATION CHARGERADIO.COM READY TO CHARGE THE NET
New Internet-based radio station ChargeRadio.com is officially online. ChargeRadio.com's format is contemporary hit radio (CHR), more commonly known as "Top 40." But ChargeRadio.com is not the typical Christian hit radio station; ChargeRadio is one of the only Christian CHR stations in North America to adopt a true mainstream top 40 sound.
ChargeRadio.com plays the hottest Christian artists, as well as mainstream artists of faith. ChargeRadio streams a mix of music from all popular styles of hit music including rap, rock, pop, R&B, and dance. Some artists in rotation include Switchfoot, The Afters, Lifehouse, Relient K, GRITS, U2, Skillet, Deitrick Haddon, and L.A. Symphony.
ChargeRadio.com was founded by the architects of the annual Contemporary Christian Madness hit song competition and award-winning Internet station FreeRock1.com.
ChargeRadio.com currently airs two specialty shows: "The High Voltage 25," a countdown of the 25 hottest songs of the week (airing Saturdays 9:00-11:00 AM and Sundays 1:00-3:00 PM); and "Weekend Energy," a three-hour program featuring dance music, remixes, and other party favorites (airing Friday nights 9:00 PM-Midnight). (All times Eastern.)
In addition to specialty programs and a music format competitive with mainstream top 40 radio, ChargeRadio.com also presents short ministry-oriented vignettes.
William Yeager, founder of Contemporary Christian Madness, is serving as co-general manager and operations manager for ChargeRadio.com. Former FreeRock1.com general manager Dan Preston operates as co-general manager and director of programming and production. David Healy of KECC in Springfield, MO, hosts Weekend Energy and will contribute to music programming for the station.
ChargeRadio.com offers programming targeted toward an 12-34 audience, streaming 24 hours a day over the Internet through Live365.com. ChargeRadio is a reporting station to the American Christian Music Journal's Contemporary Hit and Urban/R&B charts.
