NEW INTERNET STATION WITH UNIQUE FORMAT COMING SOON...

We are just a month away from the premiere of ROOTSofROCK.US featuring post-WWII pre-Rock 'n Roll era pop/country-hillbilly-folk/R&B from 1944-1954 ("The Music Elvis Grew Up With!"). This will be one unique station exploring the music that melded into mainstream R 'n R. The format clock will be a two-hour thirty-three song sweep of the decade interspersed with historical references from each year and we'll be starting off with a library of over 1,200 songs.

The music from this time period is absolutely fun to listen to...and you soon realize that mainstream rockers covered a lot of songs from this time frame...Linda by Jan & Dean, There I've Said It Again by Bobby Vinton, Sloop John B. by the Beach Boys...and probably 100s of other songs of the rock era are remakes...and most are not as good as the originals. Novelty songs like those from Spike Jones, The Woody Woodpecker Song from Kay Kyser (1948) and Smoke Smoke Smoke from Tex Williams (1947) are a hoot.

ROOTSofROCK.US is a sister station to our 50s/60s Rock 'n Roll stream, Radio Bop, at RadioBop.com -- in November, the all 60s version, Radio Bop 60s, begins operation...and we'll be adding a fourth stream with a format to be announced in early 2008.

UPDATE...NEW INTERNET STATION WITH UNIQUE FORMAT COMING SOON...

ROOTSofROCK.US update: WE'RE ON SCHEDULE...1200 songs in library...automation dry run has been running great...format clock finalized...jingles produced...promos and hourly stager are in production...the website is the last major hurdle...looks like we are on schedule to meet our October 1 deadline!!!

"Hey, if Elvis had had an ipod, this is the stuff he would have had on it!"
ROOTSofROCK.US / 1944-1954 Pop / R&B / Country

In the meantime, listen to sister station Radio Bop (RadioBop.com) playing 50s & 60s Rock 'n Roll!

Wow.............. and I thought my station that I am Launching in a couple of months was going to be unique. Actually, mine is going to be 1944-1974. With POP, Big Band, Rockabilly, Doo-Wop, Classic Country, Blues, R&B, Rock N' Roll, With a Time Frame Format, and will cover all the originals and the subsequent covers. I am launching with 3,000 plus cuts and will be adding every day. It's sounds like some exciting competition, and I look forward to the Challenge. It Will be on Live365, and, I had my sights on the Number 1 station "Golden Oldies" with Diana J, but It looks like Roots Of Rock (we have the say ideas) will be the station to beat. I Love It, thats way the best stations are on the Net. My idea was also Roots of Rock N' Roll, but I now have to come up with a different name. I Hope To Launch New Years Day 2008, God willing.

And you will make money how? Or is this a "contribution" as you will have expenses that you already are incurring. Sounds like great stuff.

Just hope your plan includes a way to pay for it in the weeks and months to come. Good luck! And don't forget those pesky licenses and royalties ...

Live365.com has a couple of revenue plans, one of ,which I believe, allow's for national spots. The pesky royalty issue is also addressed on live365.com.

This is mostly a labor of love, but, since I have programmed a current Commercial AM Oldies station, and assisted on a very successful (Currently #3,Memory Music Category, #361 of 10,000 overall) Live365.com station, these, will also serve as a resume, for future commercial Programming jobs that I interview for.

Once I launch my oldies staion, I will start building my Classic Country station. The challenge is to make the Top 5 in each category, it's for fun, and If I make some money, that's great too.
