Yeah, but Apple is "the Man"...that pretty much rules it out for Rox. :D

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who finds iTunes too proprietary and restrictive. Type "iTunes sucks" into a Google search, and you'll get nearly 3-MILLION entries to choose from.

Here's a fairly cogent discussion of the issue:

Converting iTunes to MP3.

Not sure why it listed my smiley as "Cheesy"...that was intended to be a smiley face. I was making a joke. I'm well aware of why people don't like iTunes, and have no argument with that. I do feel bad, though, that you've lost so much of your sense of humor.

I didn't take offense, Rog. It was partially a response to David's lovefest for iTunes. Sense of humor is still intact - as is my wind-up radio.

Type anything with the postscript "sucks" into search, and you'll get millions of entries to choose from.

People love to complain. They'll complain about apple pie and sex if you give them a chance. The number of replies means nothing.

Sex sucks= 22,500,000 hits.

Apple pie sucks is over 3 million too. Which means the number of people who think iTunes sucks is equal to the number of people who think apple pie sucks. How un-American.

Proprietary? The files are convertable to MP4s with any number of free and legal applications.

Restrictive? There are really few restrictions on iTunes music. And Apple even shows how to distribute songs between different parts of a home via networking. And the connectivity of an iPod or iPhone increases daily, with every kind of player you can immagine coming out.

Honestly, all things considered, iTunes sucks no more than radio did back in the days a lot of you are claiming it ruled.
