New Jack (temporary) mornings

Article in the U-T this morning says that Greg Simms and Sara will be filling in on Jack morning drive until the talent search is completed. I think that's a good fit, personally.

Meanwhile, J&J will return to air at 94.1 on the 18th of September.

Music would be even a better fit imho. That's what LA Jack does.

Jack LA already gets into San Diego. If I had a penetrating signal from an adjacent market in my metro that programmed the same licensed, identifiable format, I'd want to distinguish myself from them.

Radio strategy aside, it works out better for listeners. SD Jack listeners who like music in the mornings can get that, and those who like personality can get that.

this is partially true. On my car radio, LA Jack comes in pretty nicely until about clairmont Mesa Blvd. As soon as I get to clairmont Mesa Blvd, the interference from channel 93.3 is so bad that LA jack becomes unlistenable.
With Kool 99.3 going to a spanish format, and J&J moving over to 94.1, I have lost two more music outlets in the morning on my way to work once I get out of the range of LA Jack.

I thought they were starting Sept 1?
When did this change?

Greg & Sara will be playing A LOT of music, sources say....plus, a
few traffic reports, a little news, and probably some Hollywood stuff too.
But, count on music being the focus!

Losing TWO, Gaining ONE

Naw...you're losing 99.3 and 94.1, but gaining back SD Jack because there is no way Greg Simms is going to talk anywhere near what J&J did. This will be a "more music" situation. His butt is just keeping the seat warm for the winner of Tracy's little contest. BTW...who are the front runners? Magic Matt Alan? Rene & ChaCha? Roxy & Snatch? The Rich Brothers?

Sure... PM drive in the AM!

I believe their contract ended with Midwest today. CC probably either began their new contract on the 18th to give them a break between stations, or Bob Bollinger front-loaded their gig with a vacation!
