New Jeopardy Host(s).

He is actually pretty competent as host. I would expect to even get better. I like the way Sony is doing this...calling him guest host until he is not the “guest host”.

Oh please. The Producers have been working with him for weeks. He's getting better, but still seems wooden. Still don't think Jennings will be the final choice. Maybe a backup. That, and his whole social media posts have degraded his chances of remaining for the long haul. People don't learn that as talent, politicians, or potential talent, those can haunt you forever.

Whether they worked with him or not has no bearing on a subjective judgement of performance. Alex was an experienced host and still very different in 1984 than 2020. People grow into roles in time. Whether he is or isn't the ultimate permanent host, whether he wants the job or not, is another topic. He was the first out of the gate after Alex's last show. That's brutal for anyone. And under those circumstances, as one would expect the producers would note have thrown him in cold, he is doing fine for what we're seeing being his first tape date.

I knew it was going to be a let down for me but am trying to keep a stiff upper lip. I detect Ken is trying very hard to emulate Alex in virtually all his mannerisms and if Alex hadn't proceeded him might have done OK. The only objection I have so far is Ken talking too fast. Wish he's slow down a bit and use more inflection.

Realistically, Ken would emulate Alex intentionally, unintentionally or both. It’s the person he saw do it. It’s a game with a very specific way of being run. You watch someone do it for years, your default is going to be how Alex did it.

I was very skeptical when they announced Ken would be a guest host. But I think he's doing a pretty good job, and I would be OK if he were hired permanently. Of course he's not Alex. Nobody ever will be! As sad as it is not to see Alex at the helm, Ken is a comforting presence. He's familiar to the show's audience. He's similar enough to Alex without being an exact duplicate. (I read one review that said he's doing an "approximation" of Alex which sums it up nicely) He's very clearly and sincerely honoring Alex's legacy. He was close to Alex, and I'm sure Alex would be pleased to see Ken succeed him. Yes he could slow down and loosen up a bit and seems a bit nervous, but who wouldn't be when trying to fill Alex's gigantic shoes? He just needs a little seasoning. Keep in mind we've only seen 5 episodes which were probably all taped in one day. We won't see any real improvements for at least a few weeks.

IMHO, I think Jennings is doing fine. Anyone that does any job certainly learns from experience. By the way, isn't he connected with another game show entitled "Master Minds"? I don't know why JEOPARDY! couldn't keep going for a long time, but I also feel the same about "Shark Tank," so go figure.

Ken was involved with Master Minds, but he is also now a chaser on ABC's new version of The Chase, along with Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer, the other big winners on Jeopardy.

I'd rename it "The Plod." Too much fake drama, and I don't enjoy watching a game show version of The Wizard of Oz.

I'd agree, Ken has a pretty good chance of being named permanent host for Jeopardy.

Jennings is likable and better than we might have expected! He will get more comfortable with time.

He should get the permanent gig.

I believe Mr. Richards mentioned that Mr. Jennings wasn't available, due to other committments. I'm pulling for Ken, but who knows how many subs are lined up?

10 different guest hosts (including Jennings and Richards) have been announced. Not all of the hosts have show dates, but the celebrity guest hosts with dates are hosting two weeks each. If that's consistent, that would get the show roughly through the end of June.
