I tend to disagree with tommygraser's comment. Ms. Kathryn and Tommy G. had very good comradeship on the air. I e-mailed her a while back about it, and she said that both of them have a lot of fun together. I think that she has a great voice when she does/did her Friday night overnight shift. Will she still be doing that, or will somebody else be doing the 12-6 AM shift.

If it is true that she will be taking over for Len Moore, then good for her. It means that she will be running the board during Jim Gearhart's program. At least, she could have a night life.

Glad this thread is active again.

Most hosts are not willing to include board ops on-air (or even to acknowledge their contributions).
Hosts who do so are generous and confident in their abilities. Kudos to Tommy for "bringing out" Kathryn and giving her the chance to get a piece of the spotlight. Whether she will still be able to participate on-air in the morning remains to be seen.
But you can tell who the real pros are in local radio by how they treat their board ops.
One local host in a town opposite Salem, New Jersey only mentions his board ops to blame them when HE screws up, which is typical of small talents.
And I've heard some horror stories about how some of the on-air talent at a certain Philly "guy talk" station abuse their board ops and screeners.

Besides Tommy, Howard and the I-man have long given on-air roles to their producers and board ops. Does anybody else around here (New York, Philadelphia and Not-New-York-Not-Philadelphia) do so?

Sitarra: Nice to hear about your job openings here. But it might be better for you to post them on the appropriate Radio Pros board (until there is a board dedicated to job opening), so your post won't be moved. And then people who want to comment on something about the station's on-air programming related to any personnel changes can still talk about that here.

Wouldn't keeping job openings local for entry level jobs the best way to go?

Makes sense to me. I might automatically lock job postings with no replies possible. If people wanted to talk about personnel or programming changes at the station, they'd have to start a separate thread.

Also, it seems like people don't travel "town to town" for most radio gigs as they used to. Even for non-entry jobs, people stay within a region these days. The more think about it, maybe postings should be on regional boards.
