New Jersey's newest radio station is...

nd2023

Banned
"Jamz Radio" 102.1 FM in Newark playing your favorite Caribbean and reggae music and complete with a DJ that yells in the middle of the music! It goes about 15 miles to the southwest and it was beating up WRXP in parts of Newark. There goes HD reception of WRXP.

I guess that the second adjacents are all gone, so now the pirates are popping up on the first adjacents. I'd rather hear IBUZ than more pirate stations. In Newark itself, there are pirates on 102.1, 102.3, and 102.5 all interfering with each other.
Hopefully it's shut down within the next 10 years.
I only see threads here about pirate stations going on the air, never see any about pirates being shut down.

Yeah, but do they give away a T-shirt, beachtowel, sunscreen and frisbee to the 9th caller?

There's also "Streetz 96" with a huge signal on 96.7 every weeknight starting at 5 PM and all day on weekends. Their signal carries well into central NJ and they have a toll-free call-in number and numerous commercials for local businesses.

Also, a strong Carribbean pirate on 103.9, also carries well into central NJ.

I posted this before, there are pirates being shut down in NJ and the Philly area all the time, BUT its not the violent, hate, anti-american ones, its the Rock/Metal and Country formats....The FCC is chicken S%$# when it comes to do anything that would be politically incorrect, god help them...They would not want the three stooges, Barney, Sharpie and Jackie, to protest the whole deal...

There are no rock/metal and country pirate stations. Or else we would hear them before they get shut down.

There was a country pirate in central NJ a few years back when there was no outlet in the area for Country Music and it lasted a few weeks at most...Also, there was an Alternative pirate in Gloucester County last year and it was gone and a Metal Pirate from NE Philly around 3 years ago on 106.7 and it was down in a flash, and god knows how many more we don't hear of.....believe me they are out there but are gone as soon as they fire up the x-mtr.

I remember back in 2003 there was a dance pirate on 87.9 in the Unoin/Maplewood area and it was lucky to survive for 6 weeks. The 87.9 pirate thats a haitian format has been on for 6 years. Streetz has been on 96.5 for 4 years and now these caribbean pirates have invaded every signal on the dial.

Well that is the ongoing problem, everyone wants to be politically correct to certain peoples, daring to do anything to these people would prove racist and get full media attention. Believe me, if the Feds wanted to shut them down, they would have no fear, they can take them out in a flash with no further information on the missing bodies....The U.S. government can monitor every person and activity and destroy the situation with no questions asked...we are all vulnerable....and worthless in the eyes of Uncle Sam...no one is really safe, if the government wants you eliminated, they can do it no matter how tough you think you are....so to sum it up for some reason these minority pirates are just lucky to be minorities, the FCC does not need this exposure at this time, but then again, we are all minorities....bring on the full time Yiddish format LOL....

All they do is send letters politely requesting the station to turn its transmitter off, and they count that as a "bust". Fines are never enforced. Streetz 96 got such a letter and never went off the air. The minority pirates probably don't understand what the letter means. Because most pirates are Caribbean, I now stereotype that Caribbeans don't follow laws.
I heard the DJ say the s word on Jamz 102.1. Of course, nothing will happen because of that. The DJ will still have his "job" and tax free income. If I say the s word on my college station, and I will get kicked out and the station may be fined out of existence.

Majority of these pirates are actually coming from East Orange, Bloomfield, and West Newark. There is now a BRAND NEW STATION in the Bloomfield/Montclair area I picked up, and it's called.....Wild 104! #1 for caribbean and hip-hop!! heard on 104.1

Would YOU want to go into those neighborhoods  to shut them down? No thanks!!
I would go to 87.9, take its transmitter and throw it in a river. For now, that's the only pirate I would risk my life or an RF burn to shut down.
