New K 104.7 line up....

Just curious...any one listening to my colleagues? I would love to hear feedback. I miss my on air shift, but I do respect the new line up.

Yup, I think it's time for K104.7 to go. The jocks are OK but the station sounds awful in presentation and the music is lackluster. Classic Hits on 104.7 would be much better.

Agree that the jocks are OK. The station is lifeless though. Could be plugged into any market. Local? No way.

Well I think everyone knows that the station needs some new music, and Imaging. But besides that what is your thoughts?

Intelligent post urbanradio704. You'd make a compelling air talent with your glib, well thought out commentary.

station sucks, Brilliant summation counselor!

K104 puts me to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........ the definition of boredom.........

Are you a 40 year old woman (their target audience)? If not, you don't get to vote.

KQC does suck, just look at the ratings. I'm not a woman, but I'm in the demo. The jocks are corny, boring and stale. The music is played out and depressing, doesn't flow together well, and the station just doesn't sound good. The PD's obviously never heard of dayparting neither. All the stations I've been on air at have been #1, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Urban stations are #1 in nearly every market nationwide.

How does a guy who claims he only listens to "urban radio" on another thread on this board know so much about other stations and formats in town?

Got to love a guy who shows up late to the party, contributes nothing to the discussions and does nothing but flame other stations and companies.  What a joker!

I do only listen to urban radio, but I, like anyone who is successful in this business, does research and keeps up with what my competition, which includes all formats, is doing. You can't argue with anything I said above, because anybody who just briefly listens to the station hears what I'm talking about. Let's not forget about whoever is voicetracking sounds out of breath, slow and those awkward pauses? Ratings speak for themselves, and like I said before, all the stations I've been on and all the stations I've programmed have been #1. You can't hate from the bottom. LMAO!

That is K104.7 in a nutshell. I have listened to probably 100+ AC's and they have got to be the worst sounding big-market one I've ever heard. Pathetic given the potential the station could have.

Yup, they won't last very long in this market. :D They should flip it to an Urban format and give it to Terri Avery, she seems to be doing well with her stations.

Or maybe they can convert their "610 the Fan" over to FM 104.7, probably jump the gun before another competitor (GM's 107.9?) gets an opportunity.

Who is their consultant now? Is it still Gary Berkowitz?

Was in S'pbg and heard K104.7 today. Sorry, but those liners and jingles are horrid. They need to have a total overhaul (wait, haven't they pretty much tried that already?) ... Lite sounded much better but that's not saying much. Classic Hits, CBS!

CBS having a third Urban station in Charlotte with WBAV and WPEG? Sure..

Never did I think I would say this but, I think it's time for FM Talk on 104.7 or maybe a true active rock. The last format CLT needs is another urban or spanish. At one time I was a proponent for the "Jack" format but quickly realized it was a fad.

It really makes no difference who the consultant is! K-104 is making money and they have cut cost by extending the shifts and brining in less than big market talent. K-104 may be a part of CBS but it is lacking in formatics and we all know that. Money talks! There is a great opportunity in Charlotte and somebody will step in soon and fill that void with great music and some talented people. When it happens we'll see some competition come back to the Queen City!

a post on their website about the death of T-Bone of Hall & Oates, was from an "apparant heart attck"... oh well, they spelled heart right anyway...

They played "Brick House" during the day. I thought they were only doing that sort of thing at night. People play this station in professional offices!

Actually, I haven't heard this station in an office lately.

Come on guys, isn't it time to give K a break and beat up on Lite for awhile?

Nuffsaid has it right. They have cut costs to the bone and the station still makes tons of money. The consultant does matter though. He does the music logs and sets up the formatics you hear. I don't know the man but I'm not a big fan of his.

As for "House Music" in your dreams, think MASS APPEAL.

I don't see any challengers coming though, nobody has the money for it in this economy.
