New K-LOVE station in West TN

K-LOVE's new station WTNN 88.9 in Union City, TN has come on the air in the last few days. I know that the people who don't like K-LOVE won't be thrilled, but this is another area where there is no CCM radio except for a WAY-FM translator and being on the outer edges of other signals from Paducah, KY and Jackson and Ripley, TN. I really wish it had been Air 1, but at least it's another option for CCM in the area.

Something I'm wondering about though is what will happen with WAY-FM's translator in Dyersburg, TN, which is also on 88.9 and about 35 miles away. I already know that where I live South of Dyersburg I used to be on the outer fringe of WAY-FM's signal, but now it and WTNN fight to come in with WTNN coming in most of the time. I hope that WAY-FM will move to another frequency that will be better, but that may be a while.
Edited by ccmfan on 08/29/05 03:29 AM.

I don't think anybody has any problem with that kind of situation -- indeed, it's these places where this model is perfect. I think where people become absolutely indignant is the situation in which EMF comes into a market where a well-done, local outlet exists and competes head-to-head.

That situation exists in Indianapolis and I'm not indignant at all. As a matter of fact, I'm glad that K-Love is in Indy so there's a quality CCM station where the announcers aren't ashamed to speak the name of Jesus or read a Scripture verse on the air.
