New Kia Commercial - WTF?

I have not seen the new Kia Commercial but I duely noted they've had several strange ads over the years.

This is definitely not as bad as the ads for their year end clearance a couple of years back when they had sales people singing a song from The Sound of Music (I think) that started "Goodbye, farewell, etc. etc." That had to be not only the worst Kia ad ever, but one of the worst of any ad in recent years. :p

Okay. I saw the new Kia commercial tonight. What the hell is the deal with the giant rodent?

Nothing new about it, the rodent theme has been around for several months. It's catchy, it makes you remember the ad and thus the product. Isn't that the #1 goal for advertising?

I guess it lost something in the translation from Korean? ???

The giant rodent is supposed to make you recall a commercial with numerous hamsters on their wheels providing power for something. Other mhamsters were in the Kia car with rap music turned up loud.

Okay, Your nickname for your best friend is "The Rodent." Let's start by asking what the hell is up with that first.

Don't know about the above-referenced commercial, but here in Nashville the local KIA dealer (Hickory Hollow Carnival KIA) runs an ad in which an empty farris wheel spins in the background (there's your "carnival"). The tagline of the ad is "don't you leave 'til you see me." Even when he uses his kids in his commercials (a major mistake!), he still repeats the tagline, even when they just said it! ::)

It's something which Comcast likes to cover up with one of their own after the original commercial on the network has begun airing.

Cheers :D
