New KLLC Alice PD? maybe

Alice has offered the job to Chris Mays from the Mountain in Seattle. A station that is very much like K-FOG. Could we be looking at a renewed KFOG-Alice battle?<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by FrankOnRadio on 10/30/05 02:23 AM.</FONT></P>

I always found it amusing how KFOG, which makes such a big deal about "New Releases Thursday", would let Alice break new songs in this market and then add them later, sometimes months later.

But why would Alice go back in that direction after the changes they've made recently?

Ok, name 3 songs that Alice broke in the past year that KFOG played and claimed as new releases.

Chris Mays will not be the next Alice PD.

My post was in the past tense; obviously, Alice hasn't been breaking new songs lately. But back around '99/'00, what I described happened frequently. Most famously, Alice played "You Get What You Give" by New Radicals for nearly 6 months before KFOG started playing it as "new World Class Rock" (and gave it a whole new lease on life in the process).

Infinity is a major country station player. Some of the biggest markets have an infinity country station in the top 5.

Well it's obvious that Infinity plans to do something with "The Doghouse" at the begining of the year when Adam Corolla takes over on "Free FM"... one of two things could happen... 1) "The Doghouse" will do wake-ups at LIVE 105... 2) Alice goes CHR or Rhythmic.

I personally hope for #2.

Ahhhh, that warms my heart. Here, I thought all the talk about Doghouse and CHR would be dead, and yet -- even though the Dogmasters are working -- we can still speculate on (a) where they'll be working in a few months and (b) what station will be flipping to CHR.

What ever will we do when (a) the Doghouse actually gets a full contract at a station and (b) a station actually does go CHR around here?

Nothing, because all the promoters of the Doghouse and CHR will be too busy listening to the radio to post.
