I heard KUUL talking about Mark Manuel and Steve Kettalar doing mornings on that station starting next week. I will be tuning in to hear if they are any good together.
Now, here are some discussion points....
Where has Steve been all these years?
With the new re-incarnation of 97X coming soon, could we possibly see a re-incarnation of a former beloved favorite in this area....KIIK 101.3 (god that sounds wierd, should be 104 but that will never happen again) ?
Someone else on here was talking about some minor, but not major, tweaks to the format. Could we possibly be seeing a Super 70's and 80's format? Get out of the 60's at least advertising wise?
I know this is a bit extreme considering it IS Clear Channel, but...If the above idea actually went through, could it be possible to hear a special mix show featuring 70's through the 80's only, ending with maybe 1987 so as not to inclue rap since this audience in particular might not like that? If so, we could see Mix 96 dropping their retro show, and maybe becoming a bit more aggressive with newer music...maybe a more hot ac-ish approac at least in the saturday evening show, do a late 80's through the 90's only mix show with an emphasis on some hot sounding dance track and classic favorites, minus the rap of course.
I know, I know, just speculation, someone will come back and say I have no idea what I am talking about, that my ideas are crazy and far from reality. I like speculating, sorry, that is what this forum is here for too. So, discuss away!!
