big event at red rock casino to make "big" news...we know who pulls the strings...how come no radio station...except maybe klav has a "gaming" reporter or show?..

..if you look at rush anchored am stations in the west..or most of the USA .most have far better rankings than kxnt...kkoh reno, 780 in NM ..kfi.in LA..salt lake, sacramento etc seatle etc ....most are in the top 5 in their market if not #1 or #2......kxnt is # 10...not too good in comparison...

oscar goodman would make a good co-host..jerry dolye...but he's on kdum, or krumb....kate from tv ? I know Ken Stall...he would meet the Jack test ..won't cost much and takes orders well
 
I once read that news/talk has the second highest educated audience of any radio format behind classical/NPR. Las Vegas has the lowest percentage of college educated residents of any large Western market. So maybe that's the reason why talk radio doesn't do as well here as other markets in the region.

Or maybe it's the quality of the stations,lack of local hosts etc. I believe all of the stations you mentioned have more local talk programming than any of the stations in LV.

Speaking of 780 in ALBQ (KKOB), I noticed they use the same station voice guy that KDWN now uses.
 
I noticed the same thing..is that a package or a just guy that does voice work? Their top local talker Jim Birdaluchi ?? (not sure of name) worked on kdwn in the past as well as for local Vegas area government....that's why kdwn is going to have problems...they need a good local talker....
 
top rated guy in nm market ....he comes off as real not phoney
