New KZOK morning show

He's probably taking local area pronunciation lessons ("OK Danny, it's Puyallup - PEW-AL-UP...Repeat after me....")

anyone got a radio morning show resume rundown for this cat? its gotta be a few pages, huh?
 
He did mornings in here in Detroit for like 3-4 years. That was back in the late 90's. He probably has been at 20 stations after that.
 
Salvatori, you've got to be the most negative guy on these threads on any subject...but your point on this one DOES force one to wonder, doesn't it?

Yep. Sadly, you're right Scott. You're effing kidding me, right? I give it 6 mo tops. WOW. I wish my friends Crowski, Mike West, Dale Roberts et al... the very best. And Vanderpool... damn...
 
Danny may just surprise y'all and find Seattle to his liking. KZOK is a very strong station that was simply lacking a high profile morning show. All he has to do is not F-up.
 
For the most part, you're going to get a lot of what you see on TV from Danny...mostly a bunch of self serving, egotistical nonsense. His show in Philadelphia never really took off to the point of respectable ratings and it's partly because of those poor ratings that his old station in Philly flipped to sports. Will he surprise you? Hardly. Annoy you to tears? Probably. Once you hear the same old re-hashed stories and scenarios that you heard a million times from him, over the last 25 years, the novelty will quickly wear off. Not to mention, his voice sounds worse than ever from the chain smoking 2 packs of Marlboros a day. I'm sure this is probably just a move by CBS to keep him working and earning his paycheck rather than having him sit on the beach and get paid. WYSP brought him here under HUGE fanfare as a hometown boy coming home to rescue the station from impending doom and in the end, his show was probably the biggest contributor to their demise. Even the quotes he said in the trades are pretty much the same things he said when he came here, just insert 'Starbucks' in place of 'Geno's Steaks'. Seattle - you're in our prayers, here in Philly...
 
It would be poetic justice if Bonaduce stole a large part of Bob Rivers' audience away from KJR back to KZOK.
 
I saw a couple interviews with him today not sure how genuine he is being but he really seemed to like being in Seattle, but then again I suppose he just like having a job....

Anyway one of the stories said he had went through rehab yet again and put his demons to rest finally, all I was thinking while listening is yea right....

One thing is for sure a fair amount of people are going to tune in simply because they want to see the train when it leaves the tracks....

I say though that within 3 months he has at least 1 major 'roid rage incident and walks out in a huff all angry & pissed off.
What the hell is CBS thinking bringing this guy in?
For me it's not so much that they didn't keep a local guy in the job it's that they hired a no talent hack who has a name, a bad reputation and has NEVER been someone to bring a show or station to the top and you want HIM to be the face of your station!?

Yeah - I forgot to mention that 'roid rage is a HUGE focal point of his show. He used to talk non-stop about how the steroids he took made him a 'sex machine' because of the increase in testosterone. I guess he was working off the premise that sex sells but for the most part, his breaks and bits were all dead ends. Most of the time, you'll be listening and asking yourself, 'Where is this break going?' and never really ever be able to come up with an answer.

Bring in non-northwest guy who is generally considered an ass and comes off that way on air.

Won't sell for advertisers and listeners will hate it.

The six month prediction is spot on.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going out to buy some knitting needles so I can pierce my eardrums in case I hear him. He ruined Carolla's show.
