New Laws?

Well it "IS" official. The laws of physics are being changed. Many in the past have said that HD radio VIOLATES the laws of Physics. This will OFFICIALLY change them.

From Radio World...
http://www.radioworld.com/pages/s.0121/t.8605.html

"The group has revised NRSC-1 (AM preemphasis/deemphasis and broadcast audio bandwidth specifications) and NRSC-2 (emission limitation for AM broadcast transmission).

It’s also proposing to delete NRSC-3 (audio bandwidth and distortion recommendations for AM broadcast receivers) and move the receiver response curves, the most relevant portion of the standard, into NRSC-1, according to Salek. "

Now I don't want to hear any more whiny babies talking about "Violating the laws of Physics". We took a vote and they have been changed. Problem solved.

Reports of other changes regarding allowing first adjacent Co-Located stations have yet to be confirmed. The Non Profit group "Fairness in Media" reports if the 1st adjacent rule passes on FM, it will take approximately 16.2 minutes before every frequency is applied for in greater New York City.

Many of the "Empire" signals will be preferentially awarded to small communities close to or actually "IN" New York. Newly Designated place "Bargeville" (Just off the south end of Manhatten on an old garbage barge) is one such allotment. Anonomous sources, preferring to just be known as "Vinnie" stated... "We'se been living on this Barge for a while now. We'se FAMILY you know what I mean? Tuck Study? We don't need no stinkin' Tuck Study..." We deserve a first local service.

In other news, daytimers take note.

Sunrise and Sunset are on the agenda. The plan is to eliminate night at the next meeting... We'll keep you posted. :)
