New Leeza Gibbons Show Sees Ratings Gains

What's the deal with this show?

I get it (although I've never watched) and I'm in a market with stations owned by LIN, Granite & Nexstar.

I stumbled on this show on little-watched KTXD in the DFW market. It's decent, but not high enough quality to get placed on good stations in good timeslots.

I hope America Now has gotten better than it was last season. When I was in Louisville last year and able to watch it on WAVE, it reminded me of Day & Date, which somehow lasted five years with CBS's backing in the 90's (when CBS was stuck with Eyemark before the King World acquisition). Greenscreen 'backgrounds', the same medical 'news/press releases' and consumer news you see on 4pm newscasts and too many Raycom station sweeps investigations being re-used as filler. It needs to get much better before it hits nationally.

Decent show IMO. I only saw it once, via KPDX in Portland while down there for Labor Day weekend, and the production values were OK.

Yeah, I was in 2 markets where it was shown prior to moving out Alabama (Birmingham and Columbus-Phenix City-Auburn-Opelika DMAs). It's so-so at best, but clearly a plant for Raycom to gain some extra revenue...

I think Day&Date only lasted a couple of years. Wikipedia lists 1995-1997.

You're right, but it seemed like forever it was on when it was competing with American Journal for 'newsmagazine people cared less about'.
