New Live 105 PD

Dave Numme is the new PD at Live 105. He's the VP of alternative and active rock for CBS Radio as well as OM/PD of KUFO. Numme spent time at KRQR and KSJO.

Hmm.. I wonder if this means that LIVE 105 will take on a more active/rock oriented direction.. Their ratings as of late (since Howard left) haven't exactly been too impressive.. Maybe they can take on "The Bone".. I know that this was tried before back in the nu metal hey day, but.........

They seem to have some traction going for them on Live 105 right now. I'm only looking at 12+, but they are the same now +/- a tenth or two from where they were the last 2 books with Howard Stern. That tells me they're doing something right. Also it looks much better for Live 105 than it does the other stations in the country who had, and then lost Howard. They've maintained for the most part.

Live isn't as dead as some think. And Alice isn't as hot as they keep telling everyone.

[EDIT]

[EDIT--Post truncated to remove ratings. ]

[EDIT]

Hey, thanks for sharing this info. Considering the loss of Stern, those are great ranks for only 9 months out. The 25-54 doesn't surprise me, and I highly doubt CBS tries selling that demo on Live.

[EDIT--Removed quote containing ratings only.]

Q: Can Arbitron numbers be discussed on the message forums?

A: Currently we can not allow the posting of Abritron ratings in list form with 12+ shares included. You can list the stations with a rank (1,2,3 etc.). Discussion of Abriton numbers is allowed and encouraged. We hope to add more access to ratings in the future. Postings that do match the site rules will be deleted or edited.

The Arbitron numbers quoted above, and then deleted, listed station ranks, not numbers.

While the numbers as of late have been impressive, earlier this year the numbers plummetted to a (EDITED: VERY LOW) rating in one of the arbitrends.. Also, it seems that LIVE 105 failed to pick up the San Jose Audience that lost Channel 104.9 and KSJO.. LIVE 105 is doing better and as a fan of the station I really would like to see it (and the Alternative Rock format) succeed hopefully the new PD will have a good long term plan for the success of LIVE 105 and finish what Demery had started..

You can't trust any one trend to tell you the whole story. Live 105 is doing better today than they were in January, when a lot of people had them dead and buried. But, they are still lagging way behind the Bone and KFOG in the rock radio formats. Don't count on the new pd to keep the eclectic music blend that Demery and Axleson had going. Numme is a tight playlist rocker.
