New LOCAL owners…95.7 104.1 105.5

AND 105.5 should get new call sign : KYNO-FM

Yes, and a little radio history, John now has the original KYNO-FM 95.7, well it started as 95.5, switched in 1980, but most of you already knew that, and The FOX is doing very well, so I don't see the KYNO calls going back there.

FCC just approved the transfer of ownership - maybe now something will happen… ? Would be so cool if 105.5 would go AAA or an Alt.Country. Something DIFFERENT PLEASE!!!

!05.5 needs to go back to music, like a Classic Hits format like KRTH, or an Alt 80s format, Triple A, but yes, something different.

Why not "Upgrade" the KZPO signal - by moving 103.3 to the new KJUG-FM site -- lower on the side of Blue Ridge -- near Milo, increase power to about 12 KW ERP and change formats and run 70's and 80's classic rock ??

What is the real listenership of KZPO ??? Millions, Thousands, Hundreds or TENS ??

the cost of a high powered transmitter, huge increase in rent plus electricity. kzpo does have thousands of listeners.

I saw the new logo for the new 105.5 format, Its going to be Ka-Boom 105.5 Classic Hip-Hop much like 103.7 The Beat, don't know the start date.

In the fall book, KZPO was estimated to have 23,100 listeners in total each week. During an average quarter hour 6 AM to Midnight, there were 1,900 persons.

That made them the 7th highest rated local station in the market, but two-thirds of Visalia-Hanford-Tulare listening goes to out of market stations.

Ok so the board is doing that thing again where it doesn't show you a bunch of recent post!

I sure hope the fat dawgs find a way to keep some of the CBS sports programming. Why should 790 simulcast 940 15 hours a day, often more.

105.5 has a shot, especially since 103.7 decided to make themselves sound just like 97.9.

105.5 should play nothing older than 1980, and leave that stereo carrier off.

Like sports, do we need ANOTHER hip-hop station? We already have two classic hip hop stations. Mega 97.9 and the new 103.7 The Beat, and yet we have a very low-powered station 104.3 with music for older folks that can't even reach Clovis or even Central Fresno. Something is very wrong with this!!! Does not make any sense whatsoever!!!

I have been receiving word from people that 105.5 with the launch of their new format are playing questionable material (language). Can anyone verify this?

By the way Daniel, KJOI has a popup web player at koi.org at the upper right hand corner of the home page.

Its right there on the edge, nothing that hasn't been done before. All of the stations in town that play music with explicit lyrics censor the word just slightly.

Green day's Longview is a good example, and I smell like. . . well you know even if you only heard the song on the radio.
