I just don't buy this idea that if you have a 5kw AM station it must be either syndicated sports or religion. Dayton has two in WONE and WING.
If one of those stations switched to a music format that is not served in the market and it is all automated it could not get better ratings and better billing aimed at the target audience?
It could benefit both stations.

Most people under 50 don’t want to listen to music on AM & it doesn’t make money - this is 2023, not 1963.

Most people under 50 don't want to listen to Sports Talk Radio on AM either.you completely miss my point not everything is about people under 50. if you're going to have AM radio at all why does it have to be only religion and Sports Talk?that's the point. And Btw I know what year it is, wise guy

I’m in my 30s and I listen to sports talk and ranchero music on AM as I fall asleep. It isn’t all sports talk or religion, it depends on the market.
