Made the move a month ago and am still learning the dial. Haven't heard a lot of "real" DX and everything is car reception but heard my first Atlanta station, Kiss 104.1. Also 92.9 in Lexington for a few seconds underneath a semilocal and 98.1 the Bull fighting a losing battlew with Chatanooga.
First order of business...Clingman's Dome is on the TN/NC border...highest spot in TN. And you can park near the top. Bring a picnic lunch & plan on sitting in the car for a couple of hours...IIRC, you'll find something on every freq and more than 1 signal on many. Amazing what 6600' will do for FM reception! And it's right in your backyard!
Expect to hear 99.9 from Asheville,NC often in Sevierville (assuming somebody hasn't shoehorned a local in on that channel). Kiss Country is a flamethrower.
When I once drove on I-40 just W of Knoxville and I heard 2 94.5's, one in KY and other in Greenville, SC. I drove through Sevierville once but didn't pay attention to FMs at that time because I was paying attention to the traffic.
