New log at midnight 10/12/14

Yep, the start of a brand new day (time-wise) and another new log to start it off!

1020 - KTNQ Los Angeles, CA; KDYK dead-air so this came right in. Univision America mention at 2359.40 and then "KTNQ Los Angeles" ID at 0000 PT 10/12. No sign of anyone else, not even KWIQ, underneath. NEW #623, 50KW directional toward SW (so nice catch), 877 miles. Yep, it's another L.A. station logged. It looks like I'm getting a boatload of LA stations now that I have moved here from western Washington. Must be my latitude/longitude now. If I kept going straight south from here I wouldn't hit ocean until near Lompoc/Santa Barbara CA, compared to back west where I hit water south of San Francisco. Another 100 miles east and I'd hit ocean at Tijuana.

Nice job, crain. :)
KOMO remains my only definite log for Washington state for now. I've also heard CKWX once when my local 1130 was off the air.

I saw you mention in the 910 kHz topic about hearing Christian music on that frequency. I've also seen you say you often hear 1280 from Long Beach, which is the same Christian format as 910 here in San Diego area. I'm not sure if this is the 910 you heard, or if it's the Colorado station you mentioned. Next time you hear the Christian music on 910, I wonder if you hear the same on 1280, or on 610 (KEAR San Francisco)? (Or you could check with FR's web stream.)

No. The Christian music I heard on 910 seemed to be contemporary stuff, and the azimuth was not directly south. I think it was KPOF in Denver. 610 is my best option for Family Radio here and it's in the mess of KRTA and KONA. KIT is a big local on 1280 and it's hard to find the null - which usually brings in KFRN. I've also heard KEBR in the past on 1210.
Pianoplayer - you might want to try on 710 and see if you hear an ESPN echo, or the same programming just a bit ahead. Then you would have KIRO. 1680 is also another good option for WA - try for Spanish religious music under KGED. Then you have KNTS in Seattle.

From the Ridgecrest CA Global Tuners I have heard KVI, KOMO, tent KJR, tent KXLY, KYIZ and KNTS from WA.

Have tried for years, but no. KDYK, KWIQ, KCKN, KTNQ, CKVH (before shutdown) logged here.
