Just for future reference, the kind of music you heard is not Regional Mexican... it is Latin American pop oldies... mostly from the 60's.

In case it helps you identify formats, here's a guide to common US Spanish langauge formats. For Mexico, there is simply more in the way of sub-genres and a few differences in names. For example, "Regional Mexican" is not used as a format name in Mexico... it's called "grupera" instead.

TNX - also a second new log at 2200...

1400- KRSC Othello, WA; TOH ID at 2200 PDT "This is KRSC 1400 Othello, KVAN 1560 Burbank" and fade/out. NEW #496, 1kw, 161 miles - a milestone since KRSC was the LAST WA station to get in my DX career. I have cleaned the entire state now - just 13 to go in Oregon as well (mainly GYs and low-power stations in Southern and SW Oregon - KBBR 1340, KHSN 1230, KSJK 1230, KURY 910 etc.)

Nice going on completing Washington, Crain! That's always a good notch to mark on the loop.

How many stations does Washington have, incidentally ?

In my fevered DX years on Long Island, the only state I ever completed was Rhode Island.
That was an oddity inasmuch as a) New Jersey and Connecticut were closer, and b) Rhode Island
reciprocally is about as DX-friendly to the West Coast as Washington is to us EC'ers.
In fact, RI even put on two new stations well after the end of that first DX 'career' and I got both of
them pretty easily!
Those were all AM's, of course.

Another 'incidentally' : Have you collected the entire set of Washington FMers, too ?

There are 112 AM stations in WA state. Every one of them now caught. I haven't completed WA FMs, heck no! I probably never will due to mountain blockage, low power stations and more...

It's much easier in a state like MI, FL, MN where Tropo is very hot most years. Not so much here and it seems like always to the same areas (Vancouver BC and Portland/sometimes Eugene OR).
