New log last evening 1/11/15

Forgot to post it, but another new graveyarder to add to my overall log.

1240 - KPOD Crescent City, CA; heard with brief mention of "..Crescent City..." in jumble at 1900 PT 1/11. Mixed with several others including KXLE-Ellensburg, WA. NEW #680, 1KW, 377 miles. Much-needed log, been wanting it for years!

Now to keep searching for my huge most wanted, KVML-1450 Sonora, KHSN-1230 Coos Bay and 1230 KLXR Redding...

I wonder, too! Maybe he's in a really quiet area.
Let's see some more info on your setup, crainbebo.

Grundig G5, usually barefoot. Sometimes I will use my 3-foot loop antenna (homemade built), capacitor tunes about 600-1850 khz, but I haven't gotten any interesting 160 meter DX yet. I use it only for MW.

Keep trying for KHSN, if I could hear it, you should be able to with the bigger loop.

Maybe semi-auroral conditions, sunrise or sunset skip. I was floored when I got them. Almost 5 minutes of solid copy. Sanyo Walkman and the crate loop.

Same night you got KPOD. Must have been a pipeline to the S. Oregon / N. Cal coast.

I would have guessed that you have a major DX'ing post, with lots of wires and lots of radios. :)
I guess you DO have a reasonably quiet area, interference wise.
You get some good reception there.

Thanks

Speaking of Oregon coast stations, remember, it took me years to log the other Coos Bay graveyarder (KBBR-1340). After 100 relogs of KLOO and KBNW, they finally came in on Jan 30, 2014. WX forecast and ID. So getting a full KHSN ID may be tough due to stations like KCUP, and KSJK.
