New Log last night 4/5

First new AM log in one and a half months! (since the 2/13 extravaganza of Midwest action on AM)

1360 - KFIV Modesto, CA; Coast to Coast AM at 0035 PDT, ID at 0040 "News/Talk 1360 KFIV." Sometimes overpowered KKMO, so it sounded like day power. New #477, 950w (but sounded like 4KW day power), 707 miles. I also heard KOHU-OR in the mess on 1360, but for the most part it was a dogfight of KKMO and KFIV.

1360? Sure it wasn't WMOB????

....Just kidding!

Congratulations on a great catch. Regardless of whether or not they "forgot" to power down! And as for WMOB, as posted in another thread, the party seems to be definitely over. 1360 is back to its usual noisy self around the Midwest.

Actually I have been checking for WMOB and guess what? they are still "in the mix" on 1360 at night. Now that I know the format, I can pick out that southern gospel from the rubbish pile. And at times, their signal floats up to the point where it is almost on top (but rarely now; not like it was). I find the best time to catch them is near sunrise; around 5 am local time here in Chicago.

If it is the 200 watt signal, that is pretty impressive. So I guess you can still catch them, but it's a lot harder.
