New Log tonight on AM 10/7/2011

Got a new log for the first time in several days tonight.

1110: KDIS Pasadena, CA; Radio Disney with Taio Cruz's Dynamite, // KKDZ 1250. New station, and rare log! Distance is 954 miles.

Tonight the band was quiet and open tonight. CBK was quite strong on 540, 620 CKRM was over KPOJ at times, CFSL under KEX, KLER 1300 Orofino, ID 1kw, and two TOH news broadcasts on 750 under KXTG, likely KOAL/KERR or maybe KOAL/KHWG.

Congratulations on those new catches.

CBK is well known for its monster signal, but how about CKRM?

I regularly hear them under WTMJ, and sometimes even on top.  Frequent pest during nighttime Packer games.  And I'm less than 40 miles from the WTMJ stick!  (10kw nights).  I wonder if perhaps CKRM is somewhat "less than compliant" with their authorized nighttime pattern.  Although that said, I've been hearing them here since at least the early-mid 70s (then as CKCK).

No, something has changed with CKRM in the past few years. It used to be real rare to receive them in Oregon, now it happens quite often even in the null of KPOJ in the Portland area.

Not surprised you can hear KLER 1300 under KKOL. KKOL is good north and somewhat south at night. But directly east (where the $$$ is for a BUSINESS NEWS radio station), they're pathetic.....Even 1590 does better eastward than KKOL

Salem only has ONE good AM frequency in Seattle: 820 kHz
