WMEX tended to fade rather rapidly and 1510 would in fact get taken over for a while by WNLC between Worcester and Springfield.
You sure it was WNLC? They were SO directional you could see the towers but not hear them... you couldn't hear them in Norwich, let alone WIllimantic/Windham or Worcester!
WNLC may have been on day pattern/power before or after the change to or from night pattern when you caught it in Massachusetts. At night, it used to instantly disappear at the Waterford/Montville line.
