New Lost Songs

I have a question for the group. It used to be that when there was a song featured in a popular movie or TV show it also received some exposure on the radio. I can think of two really good songs that I have never heard on the radio that fit this description:

"World" by Five For Fighting which was featured in "Jericho".

"This Never Happened Before" by Paul McCartney featured in "The Lake House"

In this day where some songs stay on the A/C chart for 48 weeks I would think some fresh content would be welcome.....?
