New MD at YSP is doing a great job.

The music is way better then a few weeks ago. A great mix of active & alternative.

There is definitely a new mix in rotation. I've been listening a lot since the the sorta-flip to free fm and ive noticed a lot of alternative thrown into the mix recently. Now i wouldnt say that the ozzy and metallica is going away ANY time soon, but there is a little alternative creeping into their space at YSP.

Interesting thing is that they just announced the hire of a new MD from CBS Rochester, but I don't think he starts for another week or two.

Does it really matter, they are not committed to the music 24/7/365, its used mostly as filler, when they are not yakking, Couzin Ed-ing and doing Sex/Sports/Eagles on a constant basis. Drop the ball in some other stations court, bury the music if you intend to do it part time. I stopped listening to them and now listen exclusively to MMR, at least they are committed to the Rock audiance and format and are constantly trying to improve the presentation and the music.

Of course not, Kevin. Plus, anything that isnt rock rock rock.. isn't any good.

So there's some truth to the rumor that they still have a listener? Folks, calm down this is a station that listeners avoid like a plague. They are irrelevant. A non-factor. It's no more significant than a placeholder. It is one of several Philadelphia FM waterboys.

Meh. They still sound very safe and timid to me. Practically no surprises at all, and that is something that really needs work. I feel like I'm listening to the K-Rock in NYC (before they went Free) most of the time. Oh well - at least they sometimes throw in System Of A Down and bands like that, but they lose me when they play teenie-punkers Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy.

You are nothing but a trouble making, instigator, along with Kevin, you really love to keep the pot stirred. Go pick on someone like Julius, or is he above the law in your sacred book.

Who turns on a radio to listen to music anyways? That's what mp3 players and ipods are for. Yes, listening to the same 20 songs over and over sounds like a great time to me.

I want to interject here by saying that I actually enjoied hearing Vinnie the crumb do a howard Cosell impersonation, then bust his own balls by asking "why does my cosell impersonation sound like Regis phillbin?" :D
