New Mega billboard!

Why did CC advertise Mega 101 on a new billboard. This billboard is on 45 north before Cavalcade exit. Is CC going to keep this format on another frequency or is the new owner going to keep this station?

It's a Clear Channel board. Very often we have seen Clear Channel radio paper go up on unsold boards until they are contracted for.

Second, the station has not been sold, and so we do not know who the new owner is going to be. They might do anything... hits in Farsi comes to mind.

David, I hadn't thought of Farsi hits! I'm still holding out for Polka.

We laugh at that, but eventually there will be an Asian language FM here...but probably on a rimshot. An upgraded 103.3 would be a good place for Vietnamese, for example. And the South Asian community is going to continue its rapid growth here, so Hindi or Urdu could make an appearance. Already a target on a couple of AM's.

Farsi? Would be relegated to AM for now. David, anyone doing that in LA these days? Sizeable expatriate Iranian community there.

Lotus' KIRN 670 is, as the calls indicate, Radio Iran. They have a nice bilingual website. And KLVE's SCA is Radio Tehran, also all Farsi; they send a nice basket of Iranian goodies every Holiday season to the engineering department, too.
